By Anonymous

Toronto, OH September 14, 2004 -- John Muntean, rider and Vice President of Motorcycle Dreamshop, won 3rd overall at Cable Creek near Toronto, Ohio on Sunday September 5th. The event was sanctioned by the CRA (Competition Riders of America). There were about 100 riders total in the event.

"It was a long race but I felt good all day and everything just came together. I couldn't have done it without my sponsor’s help," said John. John Muntean is sponsored by Motorcycle Dreamshop, which offers high quality ATV and motorcycle accessories, parts, tires, discount street tires, and helmets as well as apparel and other gear.

Many staff members at the family-owned and operated Motorcycle Dreamshop race in CRA, AMA, and GNCC sanctioned races. Lary Muntean, President of Motorcycle Dreamshop, says it best, "Many of the riders we sponsor are leading their classes this season. We have experience and know what motorcycle accessories riders prefer to use."

John Muntean rides a Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike. After winning the 2003 250cc Class Championship and the 2003 CRA Ironman Award, John knows choosing the right tire is critical. He only uses Pirelli tires. “They may wear out faster than other brands, but the versatility and traction they offer on varied terrain is unbeatable,” said John Muntean.

America's 9/11 Ride Donates the first of four Police motorcycles

By Anonymous

August, 2003 -- America's 9/11 Ride is quickly becoming the largest police escorted ride in history. On August 21, 2003 more than 200 Police officers riding in uniform from all over America will be heading to Somerset, Pennsylvania for the dedication of the first motorcycle memorial for the Hero's of Flight 93. Currently hundreds of registered riders and police will be departing Leesburg, Virginia and Stamford, Connecticut. Officers and riders from Florida and Canada will have already been riding for more than 900 miles. Others are coming from all over New York, Ohio, Indiana, Delaware, Maryland, Georgia, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Kentucky and New Jersey.

Thursday night the group will dedicate a 1200lb granite memorial at the temporary memorial site in Shanksville. Then they head back to the host hotel in Somerset, the Ramada Inn, for a Welcome party. Friday morning they will depart the Georgian Place in Somerset Pa., ride by the crash site as they head to Cumberland, Maryland where they will fuel up and pick up the Maryland State Police escorts. From Cumberland the group will shut down I-68 and I-70 as they head east to Frederick, Md. for lunch at Frederick Harley-Davidson.

Here the group will pick up even more police escorts. After lunch the group will again shut down I-270 east bound as they head onto 495 south bound towards the Alexandria Hilton Mark Center, just off Seminary Road. Friday night the Marion County Sheriff's Department Precision drill team will perform in front of the U.S. Capitol from 7:00-8:00pm. At 8:30pm the Southern Rockers, Rhythm Pigs will perform at the Alexandria Hilton.

Saturday morning the group will meet at the Pentagon's North parking lot with an expected 1200 bikers and more than 250 motorcycle officers in uniform. Again, all roads that the group takes will be shut down until the last motorcycle is gone. The ride will travel into DC and up the Baltimore Washington Parkway to Baltimore. No problems are to be seen around Baltimore with 12 officers riding in uniform the entire ride. The group will stop for fuel at the Maryland House Rest Area just north of Baltimore.

From here the group will head to Mike's Famous Harley-Davidson in New Castle, Delaware for Saturday's lunch. After Mike's the group will be picked up by the New Jersey State Police and escorted up 295 to Rt. 130 in Bordentown, NJ. They will travel north on Rt. 130 to Rt. 1 and make their last stop in Linden, NJ. Here the local fire departments will be providing refreshments and lite snacks. At 4:30pm they will depart Linden heading directly to the Holland Tunnel. Again, no problems are seen here with 6 Port Authority officers riding the entire ride.

Once in New York, the group will travel down to the World Trade Center site and then head north up to the New York Hilton on 53rd and Avenue of the Americas. At 6:00pm the riders will present the Port Authority and Arlington County, Virginia with brand new Police Motorcycles. Two additional motorcycles will be raffled to the escorting police departments.

Originally one of the last two motorcycles was to go to New York City Police, but they cannot accept it, therefore the New York City Police Department will be drawing that motorcycle's new winning department. Proceeds from the ride are paying for the donated motorcycles and the officers' rooms. Next year the foundation hopes to raise enough money to donate an SUV rescue vehicle to Somerset, PA. and still be able to donate two police motorcycles.

America's 9/11 Ride Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization with two offices, one in Leesburg, Virginia and one in Yonkers, New York. The foundation's goals are to: always give away a few police motorcycles each year to escorting officers police departments, create a college education fund for active duty police and fire department personnel and to support those who put their lives on the line every day for us (all of us).

Motorcyclists all over the US raise millions of dollars for charity, and this ride trusts that it will become a focal point for donations. Come be a part of history, and ride with the only fully escorted motorcycle ride to all three September 11, 2001 disaster locations.
